Musician, Tutor and Sound Engineer
Hi!
My name is Chris Deering. I'm a professional musician, tutor and sound engineer based in East london.
I first began learning to play music in 2008 joining a school band school. After playing a few school concerts and local pubs I realized I wanted to pursue a career in this. I went on to complete a BTEC at college and then a music degree in 2016 at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music.
Since completing my degree I’ve gone on to work professionally as a musician. Some of my highlights include performing at Winter Wonderland in 2022 with Shannon Herbert and at Weddings Across the UK with Wura (The Voice UK). My personal musical highlights included performing at my own parent's wedding in 2023.
I began teaching in 2018 to share his passion for music with others. My students have gone on to complete music exams up to grade 8 and study at university.

Chris Deering is an experienced and qualified music tutor providing guitar, piano and music theory lessons in Chingford, London. He also continues to work as a professional musician and sound engineer.

Since graduating from the University of Sussex in 2016 with a Degree in Professional Musicianship, Chris has gone on to perform at weddings and private events across the UK with Wura Abimbola (Competitor The Voice UK 2021) as well as Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park 2021 as for Shannon Official.
His teaching experience includes working with X7eaven Productions Ltd, Leytonstone and Heathcote Secondary School, Chingford assisting students in preparing for live performances. Recent performances have included the Great Get Together at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, as well as a performance on stage at Hoe Street, Walthamstow as part of The Queen's Jubilee in 2022.
Along with live performance and working within school on group projects Chris has been providing private one-to-one lessons to individuals from a range of ages, backgrounds and abilities with many going on to successfully complete graded music exams. Chris is a Member of The Register of Guitar Tutors, and also has an enhanced DBS and safeguarding certificates.
